Meet Core at the 2025 HFES International Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Health Care

We’re looking forward to connecting with so many industry friends and colleagues in Toronto from March 30 to April 2, 2025! Check out the schedule below to learn about the Core team members who will be presenting topics and representing Core at our booth. For more information on the symposium, visit the event website

On Monday, find us participating in the Medical and Drug Delivery Devices (MDD) track during the day and presenting poster sessions during the evening:

Have questions about what FDA wants for “self-selection” studies? Look for Jen in the panel of human factors experts discussing “Improving Validation of Over-the-Counter Medical Device Selection.”

Join Laura as she explores a topic that comes up in nearly every usability study with her poster, “I Would Google it: Understanding, Simulating, and Mitigating Risks Associated with Lay Users’ Reliance on Online Sources for Instructional Content.”

Sam and collaborators at the diabetes nonprofit Tidepool will be sharing a poster titled, “The Intersection of Innovation and Regulation: Designing and Testing Medical Devices for Multiple Patient Groups.”

Jack “G” will explore the complex comparative use study space with his poster, “Which Differences Make a Difference? An Analysis of How Design Differences in a CUHF Study Correspond with IFU Use.”

Nicole and G will share their insights about what might be the most ubiquitous use error in healthcare with the poster titled, “The Pharmacy Would Never Give Me an Expired Product! Check the Expiration Date as an Observation Task and Managing Residual Risk.”

Tyler has watched and analyzed countless advertisements to bring you the poster: “Leveraging Device Demonstrations in Advertisements to Support Safe and Effective Use.”

On Tuesday, we’ll be presenting the following topics at the poster session:

Emily and Sam will talk strategy with their poster, “Dollars and Sense: Understanding What Drives the Cost of Human Factors Research.”

Marissa and collaborators at Merck will be presenting “Connected Medical Devices – Key Considerations and Recommended Practices for Safety and Usability.”
